Center for Publishing Online Information Session

Description: Center for Publishing is pleased to invite you to participate in an online information session about the Summer Publishing Institute. Our renowned, six-week summer program, is developed specifically for recent college graduates and rising college seniors who are interested in careers in book, magazine, and digital media publishing industries. SPI annually features more than 150 leading industry executives who serve as faculty members and guest speakers. Students attend lectures and workshops that explore key publishing issues; visit some of the top book, magazine, and digital publishing headquarters; and participate in a career fair and other job-related activities. SPI awards six graduate credits to those who successfully complete the program. These credits may be applied to the M.S. in Publishing: Digital and Print Media program or to an advanced degree at another institution of higher education where the credits are deemed appropriate. Students may choose to apply to both programs and enter the graduate program in the fall with six credits of advanced standing after successful completion of SPI.

We will also discuss our renowned, 42-credit master's degree program. This two-year degree program provides students with a practical foundation in book publishing and digital/magazine media. Students may apply for the Spring 2021 and Fall 2021 semesters. Through a combination of classroom learning taught by esteemed industry professionals and hands-on computer laboratory study of key digital formats and social media, the MS in Publishing helps students to master the skills required for success in today's publishing workplace. Classes are held in the evening to support students working in the industry or gaining internship experience. Industry visits, networking events, and global opportunities to volunteer at conferences and book fairs ensure that students have access to every aspect of the world of publishing.
