M.S. in Global Affairs Online Information Session
Description: |
The M.S. in Global Affairs program offered through the NYU School of Professional Studies Center for Global Affairs (CGA) integrates academic scholarship with an explicit commitment to implement real-world solutions to challenges in the global arena. Students become familiar with critical issues in international politics, economics, development, peacebuilding, law, transnational security, human rights, humanitarian assistance, energy, the environment, and related areas by way of case studies, intensive programs abroad, and classes taught by experienced professionals. Three Graduate Certificates have recently been added to support students who want to develop expertise in specific areas in global affairs. The Graduate Certificate in Global Energy is designed for professionals and new graduates who seek a greater understanding of the rapid changes taking place within the energy sector. For individuals who want to move into, or advance in, the security/law enforcement sector, the Center for Global Affairs offers the new Graduate Certificate in Transnational Security. The Graduate Certificate in Peacebuilding is designed to meet the needs of both new and mid-career professionals who already work in the international arena, but who need to acquire specific knowledge about the emerging theory and practice of peacebuilding.
